Due to rubbishness I've only just found out The Party Line is back on radio 4, broadcasting its topical sitcomey-ness on Tuesdays.  I do however happen to know that todays 8 out of 10 cats will likely be asking what percentage of people think a movie should be made of their life, and that tomorrows HIGNFY will contain this amusing video:

(I also suspect both will go on about scouts sex and playing with ones woggle....)

The return of HIGNFY tonight has reminded me I really haven't posted anything here in a while, so I thought I'd do a quick run down.

Obviously HIGNFY's back, 8 Cats seems to have suddenly reappeared and The News Quiz is still gracing the airwaves.  Equally, Clive Anderson's Chat Room is back on, and depending on your view of what counts as topical comedy Harry Hills TV Burp is back soon. (It's topical certianly, just focusing on TV rather then 'news'. Still it's very funny reguardless of genre.)

Also, with the whole american election thing going on, the Daily Show seems to have been on great form recently and the candidates themselves have been making the funnys with their brilliantly writen send ups of each other at the Al Smith dinner.

Some favourite (probably mis-quoted) lines from Obamas speech: (Haven't watched McCains yet so no quotes from him)
"There have been several mistruths said about me during the campaign.  I was not born in a manger... I was actually born on krypton...."

"Fox News have even accused me of fathering two African-American children in wedlock."

"I'm not sure quite why we're here, I was told that we could move this to the Yankee Stadium... And what happened to the Greek columns I requested?"

Full videos of Obamas speech is here, McCain's speech is here.

You almost wonder if they made it happen so they could report it; but it's official, Europe smells. Expect some form of statement from the EU later which reads along the lines of "Whoever smelt it dealt it."

(Just a shame this happened after tonights HIGNFY & Now Show were recorded.)

I wish UK politicians/comedy shows could do something like this. Although in a way I'm glad they don't.

Huh. It would seem Bremner, Bird and Fortune is back today. And starting right now. Sweet.

I wonder if they'll make any reference on one of the weeks bigger stories - the Shannon Mathews affair. Its a story of such weirdness that it seems open for jokes, but high sensitivity that risking doing them is weird. I was impressed by the Jon Holmes' line "Almost as confusing as Shannon Mathews home-life" just for the brilliance of acknowledging it without really mentioning it. (Although my favourite part of yesterdays now show was the British Airways "We've got your bags, we've got your bags, ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha" bit. If I had the time I'd totally make that into a video.)
